It's been a while since Phoebe last visited Toronto and at yesterday's show, she expressed some of her dismay about her last Toronto performance, explaining she played the show while fighting off strep throat. Let's just say, whatever it was that her last Toronto performance lacked- she brought it... and then some.
Bridgers played songs off of her debut full-length studio album, Stranger in the Alps, which came out in 2017. The crowd was serenaded by songs like 'Killer', 'Motion Sickness', 'Would You Rather' and more. This may be hard to believe, but Phoebe's voice live sounds even more magical than on record.
Phoebe also mixed in a couple cover songs into her set list. Her cover of Sheryl Crow's 'If It Makes You Happy', which she played in her encore, brought the house down.
Phoebe's powerful yet angelic vocals and melancholy songwriting put her on the list of artists you need to experience live. We're sure stoked we had the chance to.
Thanks for a magical night, Phoebe. Toronto loves you.
